On leave this week and next. Kinda fun waking up late again and not doing much in the way of constructive stuff. In other news… trying to replace my desktop rig with my laptop rig. Also ordering more and more stuff from Amazon and eBay. w00t.

Just updated to WordPress 2.0.5. Haven’t been blogging much since I got back. Have been somewhat busy with work and also getting back into the swing of things after being away for a month.

Adventures in the UK

Most of you that know me know that I am in the UK on training. Thought I’d pen some thoughts during the weekend.

So far have been here for 1.5 weeks. The weather has been good, not too hot or cold, except some rain on some days. Been doing some interesting touristy/leisurely stuff during the weekends and some evenings. So far, went to watch The Phantom of the Opera as well as Mary Poppins The Musical, both of which were very good. I have to admit though, that I enjoyed Mary more because I had better (read: more expensive) seats. Also bought a £15 cast recording. Oh well.

Also went to visit Cambridge just today. All in all, very interesting. Left the place feeling that the place is very inspiring, having produced the likes of Newton and A. A. Milne (of Winnie the Pooh fame). Apperently the original manuscript for his book is kept in the Trinity College Library. Some hiccups though, SD card died on me halfway and I lost about 5-6 photos. Oh well. Bought an excessively overpriced Sandisk 512MB SD to replace.

Been working for a week. So far so good…and I might even call it fun. Learning curve is very steep though. Trying to catch up with people before I leave for training.

Never was any good at late night rants. Signing off now.

Preparing for work starting next month. Been busy making some preperations and meeting up with friends before the work life consumes most of my waking hours. Expect posts to be occassional.. but I am still here.

Spambots have been spamming the post ‘Greyish Slides’ for some reason or another, HashCash notwithstanding. Probably need to upgrade to the latest version or use some other anti-spam technique. Closed comments on that post. Will write more soon..

Starring Adam Sandler and Kate Beckinsale, this movie is about an architect who is given a universal remote that literally controls his universe. A comedy with an underlying moral. A good watch.
